Evercam are looking for an experienced, self-managing software developer to work on an existing healthcare video product, as well as developing new apps for a variety of platforms. This is a fantastic opportunity to follow your own lead, develop your own resources and learn about a wide range of new technologies.    As well as being a thoroughly experienced web developer, the ideal candidate will have an excellent understanding of developing multi-threaded applications for the desktop and/or for mobile devices.   Our existing video product has been developed with a mix of web and desktop technologies. It consists of a Restful JSON-based Data Access API built in Ruby/Sinatra on a Postgres database; an administrative website built largely in HTML / Javascript; a desktop video client built in .NET using C-Sharp and libvlc.   You will need to be confident of jumping into the existing system, as well as deciding on the future technology strategy for it and other applications. Where new technologies are required you will be expected to learn them, or quickly assess what 3rd party resources are needed. You will need to be able to generate useful development time estimates and communicate intelligently with clients about their requirements.   Core Skills
